The Vipers finished second in Division 6 of the 2012 Fairfax Adult Softball League’s Fall Season. Although the team did not repeat as champions, the entire group battled persistently throughout the season and achieved second place. Formidable league parity contributed to three other teams boasting a 6 and 6 record which mirrored the Vipers. However, a tenacious competitive spirit enabled the Viper players to overcome matched rivals, and lead in the standings. Moreover, congratulatory recognition goes out to Eric (The Ice Man) Eifler for finishing the season with the highest individual batting average of 717 with 1.2 slugging percentage, while Jimmy (Mr October) Sneed lead the team again in at bats, runs, hits, RBIs, singles, and doubles. As assistant manager Gino (the Yak) Yanotti stated at the last game “ I like our chances for next year! The last two seasons we finished in first and second place, plus we have our entire team returning, the Vipers remain a fearsome competitor in future FAS fall leagues.”
