Viper Venom – Nov 2014

Posted on November 1, 2014 in Announcements.

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans completed another successful campaign.  The Vipers completed in six leagues this past year and enjoyed continued success.  The highlight of the year was the Master’s Vipers finishing first in Division 2 and then taking 2nd in the season ending tournament.  Additionally, the Tuesday Night Vipers continue to excel by going 15-5 in the spring and finishing third in their fall campaign.  The Long Fanged Vipers enjoyed new leadership this season and a revamped squad.  Nolan Rubin and Gino Yannotti lead that group of “maturing” softball aficionados to a third place finish.

The 2014 campaign kicks off in 134 days and the Vipers are excited about competing at all levels again to include a Masters Tournament team.

Although playing the game is a highlight every year, clearly the Vipers induction into the Fairfax Adult Softball Hall of Fame was a great day for the team.  It represents a culmination of 15 years of continued sportsmanship, class and superb play on the diamond.  A big thank you goes out to all Vipers past and present!

Finally, the Vipers will host a fund raiser at FoxFire Grill on the first Saturday in January 2015.  Foxfire Grill has generously offered to donate 20% of the day’s meal proceeds to the Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans.  All Vipers are encouraged to make a trip to Foxfire Grill and have a meal on Sat, 3 January 2015.  Foxfire Grill is located at 6550 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria, VA 22312, (703) 914-9280.  Reservations are not required but make sure you tell our host Terri Fox that you are a Viper player!
